Continuing Legal Education in Nebraska:  What You Need To Know 

Your CLE Requirements

Attorneys with active Nebraska licenses are required to complete 10 hours of continuing legal education (CLE) each year, beginning on January 1 of the year following admission to the NSBA.* Two of those 10 hours must be in the area of professional responsibility (ethics).** Up to five hours in the annual reporting period may be obtained through completion of distance-learning legal education classes.*** Other requirements and restrictions apply and are set forth in the Nebraska Supreme Court’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education for Lawyers Rules. The Rules can be found on the Nebraska Supreme Court’s website at


The NSBA is a provider of CLE in Nebraska and, as a CLE provider, we strive to help Nebraska lawyers achieve the highest standards of competence, ethics and professionalism.
