Planning incentive compensation in LLCs and partnerships is a challenge. Not as well defined as the grant of stock options in a corporation or as straight-forward as cash bonuses, equity-based incentive compensation in an LLC can involve capital interests, profits interests, options to acquire an LLC interest, appreciation rights, or some combination of thereof.

Planning incentive compensation in LLCs and partnerships is a challenge. Not as well defined as the grant of stock options in a corporation or as straight-forward as cash bonuses, equity-based incentive compensation in an LLC can involve capital interests, profits interests, options to acquire an LLC interest, appreciation rights, or some combination of thereof. This program will provide you with a framework for understanding the range of LLC incentive compensation alternatives available to your clients, assessing which is best in any given circumstances, and planning them for maximum effect.
