NSBA Health Insurance Consortium Update
The NSBA recently completed a membership survey to gage interest in participation in a Health Insurance Consortium. We are happy to report that we have the critical mass needed to proceed!
Last month, the NSBA issued an RFP for broker services. Proposals are currently under review. It is our intent to select a broker in the coming weeks. We will then begin the process of selecting an insurance company and negotiating plan options. Stay tuned!

Watergate: A Unique Look at Executive Power from Nixon to Trump
Friday, May 4, 2018
8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites Conference Center, La Vista
3 hours of ethics in Nebraska (live and distance learning)
Take a unique look at executive power with John Dean, former White House Counsel for President Richard Nixon, and James Robenalt. Using the Nixon years, and Watergate in particular, as a case study, Mr. Dean and Mr. Robenalt will look at authoritarian personalities and use Princeton Professor Daniel Kahneman’s work on the psychology of cover-ups to bring forth lessons on confidentiality of information and the organization as a client. Who is the client? What should a lawyer be looking for when dealing with a difficult CEO? What are a lawyer’s ethical obligations in the management of a company or government agency is engaged in ongoing crime or fraud, including obstruction of justice?
Oval Office conversations recorded days after the Watergate break-in provide a real-time example of a president falling. Mr. Dean and Mr. Robenalt will draw on what happened then and what we are seeing now in Washington D.C. and why you need to be aware of these psychological dynamics to keep your clients and yourself out of trouble.
