This session will discuss the various reasons appeals are dismissed for lack of jurisdiction, including the jurisdictional review procedure under Neb. Ct. R. 2-107(A)(2) as well as relevant statutes and case law. Topics include final orders, tolling motions, multiple claims, multiple parties, and error proceedings.

This session will provide an overview of how the Nebraska Supreme Court selects cases for its discretionary docket and will describe the process of preparing written opinions, after which lawyers will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide suggestions on the particular areas of Nebraska jurisprudence they think might benefit from further development.
