Preparing Demonstrative Evidence:  Persuasion & Use of Technology

This seminar will cover many topics relating to use of Evidence, including;

  • What is evidence? What is a Demonstrative Aid?
  • Types of Demonstrative Evidence, including demonstrations, simulations;
  • Types of Demonstrative Aids, Story Boards, Scripts, Themes, the three presentation methods;
  • Inexpensive – yet effective – Tools for Demonstrative Aids, Timelines, Definition Charts ;
  • Use of Summaries, Transcripts and Recordings;
  • Use of the “Teaching Witness;
  • Case law relevant to attacks on Demonstrative Aids;
  • Demonstrations gone bad;
  • Demonstrations, and Exhibits that worked;
  • Checklists for Disclosures;
  • Teaching the Jury or Judge- Learning Domains, and Learning Styles; and

Emphasis on ethics and honesty in all evidentiary presentations.

Claude E. Ducloux is Board-Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and Civil Appellate Law. He is also a former Grievance Prosecutor for the State Bar of Texas (also licensed in CA and CO) and former Chair of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics.
