In this 1 hour CLE presentation, the Honorable Joseph F. Bataillon, Senior United States District Judge for the District of Nebraska, will speak on “How to Persuade Judges to be Daubert Gatekeepers.”  Daubert requires trial judges to be expert gatekeepers but many trial judges believe vigorous cross examination is the answer.  In this presentation, we will explore the problems and ways to persuade judges to exercise Daubert gatekeeping.

The Honorable Joseph F. Bataillon, Senior United States District Judge, District of Nebraska
Judge Bataillon was born in Omaha, Nebraska and received both a bachelor’s degree and law degree from Creighton University. On January 7, 1997, Judge Bataillon was nominated by President Bill Clinton to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska. Judge Bataillon was confirmed by the United States Senate on September 11, 1997, and received his commission on September 18, 1997. He served as chief judge from 2004 to 2011 and assumed senior status on October 3, 2014.
