Images Can Be Powerful Storytelling Tools
By Philip N. Meyer, Originally Published in ABA Journal Magainze.
I often wonder why, assuming court rules permit it, lawyers don’t incorporate more visual images—photographs and diagrams, including depictions of exhibits introduced at trial—directly into their briefs and court filings, especially after this type of evidence is introduced at trial.
The technology is readily available and in many instances a picture is truly worth a thousand words. Sometimes it may even be advantageous for lawyers to strategically introduce visual evidence at trial so that it can later be incorporated into appellate briefs.
Increasing Contact With Clients

Cyber Insurance: Panacea or Pandora’s Box?
By Steven Embry, Originally Published in ABA Law Practice Today Magazine

Target was ultimately hit with multiple lawsuits from consumers and financial institutions seeking billions of dollars in damages Full Article
Rural Practice Initiative Kearney Networking Event - February 12, 2016
In an effort to provide attorneys and law students with an opportunity to experience the practice of law in Greater Nebraska, the Nebraska State Bar Association is conducting its third annual Rural Practice Initiative Program. We hope to connect participating attorneys with firms looking to hire associates in Greater Nebraska. Students participating in the program can your support your firm while gaining practical experience (e.g., draft pleadings and interrogatories, shadow during court days and client meetings, research, and prepare briefs and memos). In-person interviews for our clerkship program or full-time employment will take place at the Holiday Inn Kearney on Friday, February 12th from noon - 4:00 pm. The goal is to provide 15-20 minutes for each interview. We estimate that each attorney will have the opportunity to interview at least six students in the afternoon. Attorneys and students will have an additional opportunity to meet and converse at a reception following the formal interviewing session. If you are interested in hiring an associate or a law clerk for the summer of 2016, please fill out this form and return to Sam Clinch, 635 S 14th St. #200, Lincoln, NE 68508. Please respond by January 29, 2016.
