June 8, 2018, Application Deadline Set for District Court Judge Vacancy, Fifth Judicial District
According to Supreme Court Justice Lindsey Miller-Lerman, the Judicial Nominating Commission for District Judge in the 5th Judicial District (consisting of Boone, Butler, Colfax, Hamilton, Merrick, Nance, Platte, Polk, Saunders, Seward, and York Counties) will hold a public hearing in the District Court Courtroom, Saunders County Law Enforcement and Judicial Center, 387 N. Chestnut St., Wahoo, Nebraska, beginning at 1:30 p.m., on June 29, 2018. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy will be either Wahoo, Saunders County, Nebraska, or Schuyler, Colfax County, Nebraska. At the hearing, the Commission will receive information on the qualifications of candidates to fill the vacancy in the office of District Judge due to the retirement of Judge Mary C. Gilbride. Panitch Schwarze Belisario &Nadel took a series of bold steps starting this January. We moved to another building in Philadelphia (taking a lot less space than the old office) and requested our associates and patent agents to share offices. Our attorneys now work half the time at home and half in the office. Certain industries have had shared office space and work-from-home policies for quite some time, but the legal industry has just started to embrace this initiative.
When we moved earlier this year, many people mistakenly thought we were downsizing and shrinking as a firm, but really, we just became more efficient. We took approximately 40% less space, which directly translates into 40% less facilities expense. Law firms typically spend approximately 7% of their gross revenue on facilities, and we are projecting spending less than 4%, which is a tremendous cost savings for our firm. Full Article

Rather than clicking on the state you want on the homepage, give yourself more control with the Jurisdiction menu. You can select a jurisdiction or any combination of jurisdictions to search by clicking the Jurisdiction menu. This is located in the box located between the search box and the blue search button. There is a blue downward pointing arrow in the right side of this box. Clicking on this arrow will pull up the pop-up menu and from here you can check as many or as few boxes as you need. You can even select the type of data you want. Want to keep your selections as your default search? Just click the Save to My Settings button!
