Relaunch of the Nebraska Find a Lawyer Website
Every year, the public increasingly relies on the internet to obtain information. That includes finding lawyers. In 2005, a survey by FindLaw indicated that the majority of consumers (65%), found a lawyer by asking a friend or a relative for a referral. In 2014, that percentage dropped to 39%. Instead, consumers are turning to the internet. It is estimated that currently three out of four consumers seeking lawyers use online
resources at some point in the process.
How can you improve your ability to be found online? In 2016, the NSBA established the Nebraska Find a Lawyer website (www.nefindalawyer.com). The website allows members of the public to search for a licensed attorney by practice area and/or area of the state. The website’s affiliation with the Nebraska State Bar Association provides the public with the confidence that the service is credible and legitimate. All attorneys listed on the Nebraska Find-A-Lawyer website must have an active law license in good standing and be covered by professional liability insurance (minimum coverage of $100,000 per claim, and $300,000 aggregate). Make 2018 More Productive With This HBR Strategy
By Paul H. Burton, Originally Published in Attorney at Work
