Summary

In Part I, Nebraska Supreme Court Justice John Freudenberg and Clerk of the Nebraska Supreme Court Josh Shasserre discuss the role of Judicial Nominating Commissions in the judicial application process. In the second part of the program, Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Jason Bergevin, Judge Doele and Judge Nelson Pacy provide insights, from the perspective of recently appointed judges who have navigated the judicial application process. Under our merit selection process, the Governors office plays a significant role. The materials for this seminar include information from Governors Pillens office about what he looks for in a judicial applicant.
