Summary

Native Americans and other Indigenous Peoples have long experienced theft of their traditional knowledge and intellectual property. Several federal laws have attempted to curb misappropriation but have failed to fully address the problem. This presentation will explain and explore Native American intellectual property and Indigenous knowledge, survey the laws that may be used to protect them, and discuss challenges and strategies in the on-going fight to protect Native American intellectual property and Indigenous Knowledge.
