Election to the Executive Council
The NSBA Executive Council is composed of the NSBA officers, six representatives elected by the membership in each of the 6 appellate court districts and a number of non-voting ex-officio members, such as an ABA delegate, Young Lawyers Section Chair and the Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court. District representatives are nominated by petition. The NSBA disseminates notice of the nomination process in the spring and elections are conducted electronically in the summer. The term is for four years, and the Executive Council meets 6-7 times per year. District representative elections are staggered.
