The Public Interest Law Section is dedicated to providing a statewide forum for attorneys who practice or are interested in public interest law. Public interest law is defined broadly as legal practice in the service of otherwise unrepresented or underrepresented persons or interests and is wide-ranging, encompassing subjects including, but not limited to, civil rights, civil liberties, environmental protection, international human rights, consumer protection, poverty, employees’ rights, sexual identity rights, education, election reform, rights of criminal defendants, corporate reform, children’s rights, and disability issues.
