This presentation will review the investigation and disciplinary procedures faced by healthcare professionals. Attendees will learn about common triggers for investigations, the role of regulatory boards, and the disciplinary process. | 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. | Long Term Care in Nebraska Abbie J. The discussion will provide a broad overview of the long-term care continuum in Nebraska and some requirements of each. Items include: the difference between Independent Living, Assisted Living, Nursing Facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities; Nursing facility agreement with hospitals, hospital discharges back to other licensed facilities and the level of care limitations; the difficulty in finding a long-term care bed; payment issues in long-term care; and the increased role of the medical director.
