The purposes of the Health Law Section are to provide a statewide forum for attorneys to expand their knowledge and practice skills in all areas of health law, to better serve the legal needs of the health care sector, to promote education on changing trends in health law, and to promote the mission of the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Health Law Subsection Headings

  • Reimbursement: coding, federal and state health programs, cost reports, managed care, and compliance
  • Regulatory: compliance, EMTALA, conditions of participation, HIPAA, life science, STARK, anti-kickback, and tax and finance
  • Government disputes/litigation/investigations: civil, criminal and administrative disputes, government investigations of suspected violations, civil defense, collections, and fraud
  • Licensure/Credentialing: professional, facility, administrative appeals, and peer review
  • Operations: mergers and acquisitions, tax and finance, entity formation, employment, risk management, workers compensation, ethical consultations, drafting consents, and research
