The Nebraska State Bar Association is pleased to announce publication of a new manual, How to Form a Professional Legal LLC in Nebraska. The manual was written by Katie M. Martens of Houghton Bradford Whitted PC, LLO. When she began teaching the “Business of Law” course at Creighton Law in 2018, she learned how difficult it was to find good resources on starting and running your own practice. She hopes that in writing this manual, it helps alleviate some of the overwhelm some attorneys might feel in undertaking a solo practice in Nebraska. The manual includes the following chapters:
- Chapter 1 - What You’ll Need Before Drafting
- Chapter 2 - Sequence of Events and Time
- Chapter 3 - Certificate of Authority ...
- Chapter 4 - Certificate of Organization
- Chapter 5 - Notice of Publication
- Chapter 6 - Operating Agreement
- Chapter 7 - Extra Considerations
- Chapter 8 - Reading and Book Lists
- Appendix
- Certificate of Authority
- Certificate of Organization
- Publication Requests + Notice of Organization
